December~2013~Day Seven
We enjoyed a leisurely breakfast on the Verandah deck, then decided to relax in the Britannia lounge and listen to a lecture on two of our upcoming ports, La Gomera and Madeira. The weather is perfect and the ship is very steady now.
We have booked to go on a City Secrets tour of Agadir combined with a Fantasia show, and we leave in the early afternoon.
The ship docked at 1.00pm, my first impression was an intensely industrious port with container vessels and cranes loading and unloading many ships, and a variety of lorries carrying goods away from the port.
On the way from the port there were three huge Arabic words lettered on the side of a steep hill~~Translated by the tour guide into~~ALLAH~~NATION~~KING~~ Very impressive indeed.
We were transported through the wealthier area of the city, passing mansions and villas, with beautiful gardens and bougainvillea covered walls. We explored a wonderful large emporium selling some absolutely beautiful Arabic goods, furniture and paintings, opposite the new Talborjt mosque.
We finished a wonderful day in Agadir singing traditional Christmas carols with the other passengers then back to our cabin to read and sleep.
